Western United snapped their losing streak against Western Sydney Wanderers after celebrating a 4-1 victory in the Ninja A-League on Friday night.
In-form Western United used a three-goal first half, headlined by Philippines star Sara Eggesvik’s first A-Leagues goal, to end their run of three straight defeats at the hands of Western Sydney.
Sienna Saveska’s stunning Olimpico gave the visiting Wanderers some hope but it was not enough to inspire a comeback at Ironbark Fields, where Kiara De Domizio completed the scoring.
With the result, Western United moved fourth provisionally while the Wanderers remain bottom of the standings after 14 games.

The Wanderers did pull a goal back four minutes later and it was an incredible strike as Saveska’s Olimpico looped over Matildas goalkeeper Chloe Lincoln.
Melissa Taranto almost restored Western United’s three-goal cushion on the stroke of half-time after Khamis almost fluffed her save.
Western United did complete the rout 10 minutes from the end – De Domizio came off the bench and found the back of the net with a powerful header.
