Following a storied football career that has taken him from the Hyundai A-League to the German Bundesliga and Chinese Super League, Dean Heffernan has landed in Wanderland and couldn-t be happier.
Gaining valuable minutes during the WanderTour 2013 at the centre of the Wanderers back four, including setting up a goal against Guangzhou R&F, Heffernan will this season be looking to add not only his versatility to the squad but also extra competition across the backline.
Heff has previously played for three other Hyundai A-League clubs including two with good friend and Wanderers captain Michael Beauchamp. The pair also played together during a season with FC Nurnberg in the German Bundesliga where they signed together in 2006.
With over 100 Hyundai A-League matches under his belt and two appearances for the Socceroos, Heffernan is a valuable addition to the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers squad for their second season.
WanderTour 2013 concludes with a match against Toyko Verdy on Thursday 12 September at the Tama City Stadium.
