The Western Sydney Wanderers FC are through to the Westfield W-League Finals Series for the first time ever after defeating Perth Glory 3-2 at Hay Park in Bunbury this evening.

The Wanderers got off to the perfect start with three goals in the opening 30 minutes of the match courtesy of Sam Staab (2’) and a double from Kristen Hamilton (11’ & 28’).

With a possible blow-out on the cards, someone forget to tell Perth Glory who regrouped at half time and then pulled two goals back in the 63rd and 83rd minutes through Celia and Morgan Andrews respectively.

The remainder of the match was a tense affair with Perth Glory looking for the equaliser and the Wanderers holding on defiantly to record an historic victory which gave them fourth place.

Earlier in the evening, Melbourne Victory’s solid  3 – 1 win over Sydney FC saw them secure second place and join Melbourne City FC in securing hosting rights for the Westfield W-League 2020 Semi Finals.
