Western Sydney Wanderers W-League Coach Stephen Roche has named his squad for this weekend-s clash against Adelaide United at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The last time the two teams met, the Wanderers were sitting comfortably in front only to be defeated by three miraculous strikes late in the second-half of the match.
Roche says that although he is happy that the Wanderers are sitting on ten points, within striking distance of a highly coveted top four position, he is hoping that the team can bounce back from a disappointing loss last week to competition leaders, Perth Glory.
“Things could have been better had we won against Adelaide United in the opening match,” he said.
“However, we have to move on and we are not intending on letting a win slip this time.” Roche says that he is pleased with form of the squad and the quality of football that the team has produced so far – and is hoping that a victory this week may elevate the Wanderers into the top four.
“This week we have been reinforcing a lot of things at training, including working on combination plays in the front third; we want to make sure we capitalise on the chances that we are creating,” he said.
The match will be played at Campbelltown Stadium, Sydney at 2.00pm (local time).
