Sydney Everest, Chaldean League and Tamil Eelam have been crowned the winners of the Red & Black’s Asian Cup tournament hosted at the brand-new Wanderers Fives.
The tournament, which is proudly supported by the J Cheng Group, kicked off in May to celebrate, promote and welcome cultures to Sydney’s West.
The Elite Division saw Sydney Everest (Nepal) and Esteghal FC (Afghanistan) battle it out in an intense and highly competitive Grand Final fixture.
Esteghal took a commanding 3-0 lead in the first half, but were unable to hold out Sydney Everest who with some attacking brilliance scored six goals in the second half.
The result saw the Nepalese take home the Elite Division trophy thanks to their 6-3 victory.
The Community Division saw players from as old as 60 and as young as 16 come together to play football.
This mix of experience and youth saw the Chaldean League lift the trophy against Team Nepal.
While the final Rookie Division was taken out in great spirits by the Tamil Eelam team. The team continued to learn and improve every week and were deserved winners of their division.
