Alex Bonetig, originally from Shellharbour, has been a key figure in the Western Sydney Wanderers Academy since 2016, consistently impressing with his hard work and leadership on the field. A towering central defender, Bonetig is known for his composure, strong aerial presence, and tactical awareness, which have made him a standout in the Academy system.

In June 2022, Bonetig signed a two-year scholarship deal with the Wanderers’ senior squad, marking his progression from the Academy ranks to the professional level. Since then, he has continued to develop his game, gaining valuable experience and becoming an integral part of the team’s defensive unit.

Bonetig’s football journey has a strong family connection, as his younger brother, Liam Bonetig, is also following in his footsteps as a central defender. Liam currently plays for the Celtic Academy squad, further solidifying the Bonetig name within the club.
