Anthony Pantazopoulos

A composed and versatile defender, Anthony Pantazopoulos has established himself as an important figure in the Western Sydney Wanderers’ backline through his defensive strength, confidence and determination.

Born in Melbourne, Pantazopoulos began his football journey with Brunswick City before progressing through the Victorian National Premier Leagues competition with Oakleigh Cannons, where he was part of a championship-winning squad.

His performances earned him a move to the Wanderers in 2023, initially joining on a scholarship deal before making his Isuzu UTE A-League debut in the club’s 5-0 victory over Western United in October that year.

The 2024/25 campaign proved a breakthrough season for the young defender, who established himself as a regular in the Wanderers’ starting line-up and scored his first A-Leagues goal against Macarthur Bulls. His impressive development was rewarded with a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Pantazopoulos continued to build on that momentum, becoming a consistent presence in the Red & Black defence and earning recognition at Australian Under-23 level.

Known for his aerial ability, physical presence and composure in possession, Pantazopoulos brings a competitive edge and growing leadership to the Wanderers’ defensive unit.
