Ben Mewett

Left-back Ben Mewett made the switch to the Western Sydney Wanderers from the Central Coast Mariners Academy at just 18 years of age.

Born in Bateau Bay on 28 February 2007, Mewett began his pathway in football with the Newcastle Jets, representing the club in the U14s and U15s NPL 2 NSW competitions. His performances at youth level earned him selection in the NSW Metro White team, where he played a key role in their triumph at the 2022 National Youth Championships.

In early 2024, he joined the Mariners Academy at the age of 16, before continuing his development with the Wanderers.

A left-footed fullback known for his strong defensive instincts, Mewett has built a reputation for his ability to read the game and shut down opposition attacks with precision and composure.
