Yengi signs with Western Sydney

Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the signing of exciting forward Kusini Yengi for the next two Isuzu UTE A-League seasons.

The 23-year-old broke into the A-Leagues scene during the 2019/20 season with hometown club Adelaide United where he made 27 appearances and scored six goals during his three seasons at the club.

The 187cm fast-paced and electrifying forward will arrive in Western Sydney following the completion of Australia’s AFC U23 Asian Cup campaign in Uzbekistan.

Head coach Mark Rudan welcomed Kusini to the Wanderers family.

“We are very excited to welcome Kusini to Western Sydney and we are eager to see the energy he will bring to the group,” said Rudan.

“Kusini is one of the best young strikers in the country and we look forward to helping him reach his full potential.

“His (Kusini) resilience and passion aligns with our values and culture, and we expect him to settle in well and have a big impact at the Red & Black.”

Yengi said he was looking forward to being part of the Wanderers family.

“I was ready for a fresh start after three years in Adelaide. The club’s plan for next season, their amazing facilities, and Mark (head coach Mark Rudan’s) hunger for success were all things that enticed me to join the club,” said Yengi.

“I’m coming to the Wanderers to not only continue my development as a player but mainly to be successful.

“The Wanderers are one of the biggest clubs in the A-Leagues with a very strong and rich history. I’m looking forward to helping this amazing club get back to where it should be – winning titles and playing in Asia.”
