Palm Beach progressed to the quarter final of the inaugural competition in 2014 after wins over Murwillumbah, South West QLD Thunder, Coloundra FC, Hakoah Sydney City East and South Springvale. Their end came when they matched-up against Central Coast Mariners and finished up on the wrong side of a 5-0 scoreline.

This year they have made it the hard way with three out of their four victories coming from penalty shoot-outs. Beginning with a 12-11 penalty shoot-out win over Broadbeach United, the Sharkes followed it up with a 4-3 win on penalties over South West Queensland Thunder before defeating Noosa Lions in regulation time.

In the Round of 32 their form continued, winning 8-7 in the shoot-out after coming from behind at Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast.
