This allows you to follow how our players are performing for their NPL and overseas clubs while keeping you up-to-date with fixtures in case you’d like to go and watch them live.
Mens NPL1
Anthony Schmidt played a full match for Marconi Stallions in their 3-1 loss to Sydney United. A highlight being a 75 metre recovery run which saw Schmidt make a tackle to stop a break away.
Thomas Manos took seven crosses in the South Coast Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Manly United. Manos came off his line a couple of times to clear the ball but it was an own goal from a fellow teammate that sadly caused the opposition to equalise.
NPLU20
Richard Darko sustained another injury after last week’s game and missed out on playing in United’s 5-1 victory against Marconi Stallions.
Michael Trajkovski was out with injury in Olympic’s 3-0 loss against Sutherland Sharks.
NPLU18
Jordan Koton remains injured and missed out on United’s 1-1 draw against Marconi.
NPLW1
Michelle Carney, Caitlin Cooper and Jordan Baker from Illawarra Stingrays drew 3-3 with Sydney University’s Victoria Guzman, Rachel Soutar, Grace Henry and Trudy Burke.
Baker played 90 minutes and set up two goals which both came from corners. Carney also scored for the Stingrays.
Henry featured in the entire match for Sydney University and scored the equaliser after originally being down 3-0!
Guzman has been enjoying her time so far at Sydney University and featured in the match against the Stingrays. Guzman has been playing in a different position with University this season as a defensive midfielder and as a result has been able to get the ball more and create more goal scoring opportunities for her team.
Tia Gavin and Chloe O’Brien were both involved in Manly United’s 2-0 win against North Shore Mariners. A corner from Gavin contributed to one of the goals scored by her side.
Football NSW did not have the best of luck in their match against Macarthur Rams losing 5-0 in a replay of last season’s Grand Final. Demi Koulizakis and Lorena Budgen both featured in the match with Budgen playing 70 minutes and creating some great patches of play.
Helen Petinos, Rhianna Pollicina and Hannah Beard all played in the NWS Koalas side that lost 1-0 against Linda O’Neill’s Blacktown Spartans.
NPLW 2
Caitlin Jarvie scored in Marconi Stallions’ triumphant 2-1 victory over Southern Branch. After participating in the Sydney half marathon earlier in the morning Jarvie backed up to play 60 minutes in the match and scored from a penalty.
National Women’s Soccer League (USA)
Keelin Winters and Seattle Reign did not have a game scheduled.
Kendall Johnson and the Portland Thorns lost 1-0 to the Boston Breakers after a late goal.
This weekend
Thomas Manos will be in goals for the South Coast Wolves when they take on Anthony Schmidt and the Marconi Stallions this Saturday at 7.30pm at Marconi Stadium.
Sydney United will be playing at home with Sydney Olympic entering their fortress. There are hopes that Jordan Koton and Richard Darko both return from injury to play in their sides’ 11am and 1pm games both being played at Sydney United Sports Centre.
The North West Sydney Koalas Helen Petinos, Hannah Beard and Hannah Beard will be travelling to Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility to play against the Emerging Jets at 1.30pm on Sunday.
Michelle Carney, Caitlin Cooper and Jordan Baker from Illawarra Stingrays will be playing against Blacktown Spartans on Sunday at Blacktown Football Park at 3pm.
Manly United’s Tia Gavin and Chloe O’Brien will be playing at Lynwood Park at 3pm.
Victoria Guzman, Rachel Soutar, Grace Henry and Trudy Burke from Sydney University will be battling it out against Demi Koulizakis and Lorena Budgen from Football NSW on Sunday at 3pm at Wilson Park.
Kendall Johnson and the Portland Thorns will be playing next against Houstan Dash on Sunday 12pm (AEST).
Seattle Reign and Keelin Winters’ next match will be on Saturday 12pm (AEST) in an international friendly against China Women’s National Team.
