Our NPL NSW side faces a must win clash this weekend against Bulls Academy FC.
The Wanderers fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat last round away to Sutherland Sharks, and will look to regroup against the bottom placed Bulls side in an effort to climb out of the relegation zone.
The performances have by and large been much improved from the Wanderers in recent weeks, with the signings of Oscar Priestman and Anthony Pantazopolous adding depth and quality to the side, and the Wanderers only sit two points behind Mt Druitt Town Rangers and safety.
The upturn in form had been underlined by a strong attack that had scored 17 goals in eight games, with Zac Sapsford, Nicolas Milanovic and Marcus Younis all impressing in different games.
They will fancy their chances against a Bulls team winless in 14 games, with 12 of those games being losses.
Their most recent loss came against Rockdale Ilinden FC, where two first half goals consigned them to a 2-0 defeat and left them rooted to the bottom of the table.
The Bulls did come away with victory in the reverse fixture this season; despite the Wanderers creating numerous chances, a standout performance from opposition goalkeeper Alexander Robertson and a late Rhys Youlley free-kick meant the Bulls secured a smash and grab 1-0 victory.
The Bulls also poached multiple players from the Wanderers in mid season, with Ariath Piol, Frans Deli and Luca Pecora all playing in white and black.
The Wanderers cannot take this game lightly given its importance, but will also be motivated to overturn last week’s underwhelming performance and secure a victory that could lift them out of the relegation zone depending on other results in this weekend’s matches.
