Wanderers sign two-year partnership with Komatsu

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed a two-year partnership agreement with global manufacturing and technological innovator Komatsu Australia.

Komatsu, who this year celebrates their 100th year in business, were founded near Komatsu City in the Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan and are now a leader in the manufacturing and distribution of earthmoving and mining equipment globally.

Over the next two seasons, Komatsu will be proud supporters of the Wanderers A-League Women’s side where they will feature on the right-sleeve of the jersey as well as supporting a range of community initiatives led by the club in the women’s football space.

Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas welcomed Komatsu to the Wanderers family.

“The next two seasons are set to be major on both a domestic and international level with the FIFA Women’s World Cup on our shores in 2023, and we are very proud to have Komatsu on-board to support our A-League Women’s team over this period,” said Tsatsimas.

“Komatsu’s global reach can be seen in Western Sydney today, where they have found a home for their business and supported so many families with employment opportunities.

“We are very excited to work with Sean (Sean Taylor, Managing Director and CEO of Komatsu Australia) and his team over the next two years to support our A-League Women’s team.”Komatsu

Managing Director and CEO of Komatsu Australia Sean Taylor was delighted to be able to support the Wanderers A-League Women’s team as well as the greater Western Sydney community.

“Komatsu is incredibly excited to partner with the Western Sydney Wanderers FC Women over the next two years in what is an exciting time to be part of women’s football in Australia,” said Taylor.

“Komatsu is celebrating 100 years in 2021, and we couldn’t think of better way to mark this occasion than to give back to the Western Sydney community that our business has been so lucky to have called home for all these years. So many of our staff, customers and future employees are based in this vibrant region, and football is the lifeblood of many of their communities.

“Through this partnership with the Western Sydney Wanderers, we want to showcase not only the remarkable female footballers from the Wanderers but shine a light on the opportunities available in our industry.

“Many are not aware of the diverse roles and exciting career paths available in the construction and mining industry, working with exciting and sustainable technologies. From apprentices to engineering, sales, and service technician roles, we want to make sure women are given greater opportunities to make their mark.”
