The Wanderers Academy U14s and U15s squads faced Melbourne Victory in an interstate pre-season friendly at Wanderers Football Park on Thursday night.
U14s Match Wrap
4-4
It was a game of two halves for the Wanderers U14s side who looked sharp and pressed well in the first half in difficult conditions. The Red & Black went up 2-0 early in the second half, but an unfortunate lapse in concentration lead to Victory pulling one back. The visitors then turned the game around to their favour and went up 4-3, but the Wanderers didn’t give up fighting and scored the equaliser in the dying minutes of the match.
U15s Match Wrap
0-0
It was a great challenge from the outset for the Wanderers U15s squad with Melbourne Victory playing very direct in their transition. The Red & Black had lots of great chances to break the deadlock but were unable to find a way through. It was end-to-end action in the pre-season friendly with the Wanderers taking plenty of positives from the draw.
The Wanderers would like to thank Melbourne Victory’s Academy for travelling to Wanderers Football Park for the fixture and hope for more meetings in the near future.
