Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the re-signing of young gun Aydan Hammond on a scholarship deal until the end of the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-Leagues season.
After returning to Australia after eight years overseas in Portugal, Hammond signed with the Red & Black for the 2023/24 season and trained with the both the club’s Academy and first team squads.
Hammond made his A-Leagues debut in February 2024 and went on to make a total of three appearances for the Wanderers, scoring his first goal in the club’s final match of the season.
The attacker said he was very grateful for the opportunities he’s been given so far.
“As soon as I was told the club wanted to keep me, it was music to my ears. I was more than happy for a two-year scholarship,” said Hammond.
“There was definitely lots of ups and downs this season, but it gave me extra motivation to work harder on and off the field knowing that my opportunity was eventually coming.
“I’m passionate for the club, whether I’m in the National Premier League squad or the first team, I want to make sure we get the job done. It’s very important to me.
“Game time is also important to me, so whatever opportunity I get, I hope I do well and I want to score more goals. I’ve scored one goal already in the A-League but I know I have more in me.
“I want to thank the Wanderers staff, members and fans for putting their trust in me. It gives me an extra boost in motivation in wanting to do so well and win as a group.”
