Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to confirm that three of the club’s Ninja A-League stars have been selected for their respective national squads for upcoming 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, with defender Wang Ying and forward Yuan Cong named in Chinaâs squad, and defender Janae De Fazio selected for the Philippines side.
Wang Ying and Yuan Cong, who joined the Wanderers in September 2025, have been strong performers in the Ninja A-League this season.
Their selections for Chinaâs squad reflect their skill, consistency, and the opportunities provided through the Wanderersâ Ninja A-League program, which continues to develop players capable of performing at the highest levels both domestically and internationally.

Janae De Fazio has earned her place in the Filipinas squad ahead of the tournament. While her time with the Wanderers has been limited, the club is proud to see her reach this stage and wishes her every success in the Asian Cup.
Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Geoff Abrahams congratulated the players on their selection.
“It’s fantastic to see Wang Ying and Yuan Cong recognised at the international level,” said Abrahams.
âTheyâve worked incredibly hard since joining the Wanderers, and their dedication and performances have earned them this opportunity to represent China on the biggest stage in Asian football. Weâre also proud of Janae De Fazio for her selection to the Philippines squad and wish her all the best in the tournament.
âHaving three players from our club involved in the AFC Womenâs Asian Cup is a real testament to the quality of our program and the pathways we provide for our players.”
The Western Sydney Wanderers congratulate the trio and look forward to their performances in what promises to be an exciting and competitive AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
