The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL Women’s side continued their outstanding start to the season with a dominant 5-0 victory over NWS Spirit, extending their unbeaten run to ten matches and moving into second on the ladder.
The Wanderers started brightly and immediately looked dangerous through Alyssa McKenzie down the right flank. A nearly attacking move saw McKenzie find Miriam Zumaya at the far post, while the pressure soon paid off when Mia Nataly timed her run perfectly onto a through ball before calmly finishing past the goalkeeper to hand the Red and Black the lead.
Spirit attempted to work their way back into the contest through spells of possession, but the Wanderers remained organised defensively.
Ella Keep produced a crucial intervention at the back, while Savannah Murray tracked back superbly to deny Halmarick in a one-on-one situation. Aimee Hall was also called upon during the first half, producing a strong diving save to keep the visitors at bay.

The Wanderers continued to threaten whenever they moved forward, with Alvina-Marie Khoshaba and Nikkita Fazzari helping control the tempo through midfield. Their second goal arrived before the break when Hall launched a long ball forward which released McKenzie into space, with her dangerous cross taking a deflection and finding the back of the net.
The Wanderers maintained their intensity after half-time and continued to dominate attacking territory.
McKenzie added another after reacting quickest to a saved Barker effort, while Fazzari capped off an influential display with a superb long-range finish after spotting the goalkeeper off her line.

Substitute Sophie Aungle completed the scoring late in the match, curling an excellent finish beyond the goalkeeperafter a well-worked attacking move involving McKenzie and Khoshaba.
The Wanderers also finished strongly defensively, with Hall producing a fingertip save onto the crossbar in the closing stages to preserve her clean sheet and cap off another dominant and clinical performance from the Red and Black.
The final whistle capped another dominant display from the Wanderers, whose blend of attacking flair, defensive structure and growing confidence continues to make them one of the competition’s form sides. The victory lifts the Red and Black into second place while extending their unbeaten run to ten matches to begin the campaign.
