Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the signing of 2024/25 Ninja A-League Goalkeeper of the Year Sarah Langman to the club for the upcoming Ninja A-League season.
The experienced goalkeeper has added significant experience to her career since she was last in Red & Black, most recently playing an important role at Central Coast Mariners, where she was part of the squad that claimed the Ninja A-League Championship.
Langman returns to Western Sydney with valuable experience and a winning mentality, adding further leadership to a Wanderers squad featuring an exciting group of young players.
Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director Mal Impiombato said Langman’s experience and leadership would be valuable additions to the squad.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Sarah back to the Wanderers,” said Impiombato.
“Sarah brings a wealth of experience to the group and importantly the ability to win trophies both with club and on an individual level as GK of the Year in 2025.”
“She has experienced success at the highest level of the domestic game and we believe that experience, combined with her leadership qualities, will be incredibly valuable for our exciting merging talent and the broader squad.”
Wanderers Ninja A-League Women head coach Geoff Abrahams said Langman’s championship-winning experience will be a great addition.
“Sarah is an experienced goalkeeper who brings a strong mentality and a real understanding of what is required to be successful in this competition,” said Abrahams.
“She’s been part of a Championship-winning environment and knows the level of hard work, resilience and consistency that is required across a season.”
“We have a young and exciting group, so having someone of Sarah’s experience around the squad will be really important. We’re excited to have her back at the club and look forward to working with her throughout the season.”
Langman said she was excited to return to the club and embrace a new challenge in familiar surroundings.
“I’m excited to be returning to Western Sydney Wanderers and I’m looking forward to a new challenge,” said Langman.
“It’s special for me to be moving back to Western Sydney. The Wanderers were the first club I moved to when I moved interstate, so I’m really looking forward to being back.”
“Personally, I want to return from my injury and get back to playing at my best, and Western Sydney has the foundations to allow me to do that,” said Langman.
“I learnt that winning a Championship requires more than just talent. It requires hard work, dedication, teamwork and resilience. I’m looking forward to bringing those experiences with me and doing everything I can to help the team this season.”
