The West Takes Off: Wanderers celebrate new season at Western Sydney International Airport

Western Sydney Wanderers FC celebrated the beginning of an exciting new chapter, bringing together the club’s corporate family for a special 2026/27 Season Launch at the brand-new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.

Held under the theme The West Takes Off, the event provided a fitting backdrop for the Wanderers to officially welcome the new campaign, celebrating the people, partnerships and shared ambition that continue to drive the club forward.

With Western Sydney International Airport representing one of the most significant developments in the region’s history, the occasion was a celebration of more than just football. It was an opportunity to recognise the continued growth of Western Sydney and the important role the Wanderers play in representing its people, communities and businesses.

Hosted by respected sports broadcaster Steph Brantz, the special event brought together the club’s valued corporate partners, sponsors and key stakeholders alongside both the A-League Men’s and Women’s squads, coaching staff and club leadership.

The evening provided a unique opportunity for the Wanderers’ corporate family to connect with the players who will represent the Red & Black this season, meet the new arrivals and share in the anticipation surrounding the upcoming campaign.

A highlight of the event was an on-stage Q&A with A-League Men’s head coach Ufuk Talay and A-League Women’s head coach Geoff Abrahams, who offered insights into their respective squads, preparations for the season ahead and their ambitions for the Wanderers in 2026/27.

With both teams preparing to embark on new campaigns, the discussion provided those in attendance with a closer look at the direction of the club on the pitch and the opportunity that lies ahead.

The occasion also recognised the invaluable contribution of the club’s corporate family, whose ongoing commitment and support remain central to the Wanderers’ ambitions both on and off the pitch.

From long-standing partners who have been part of the journey since the club’s earliest days to those joining the Wanderers family for the first time, the evening reinforced the strength of the relationships that connect the club to the wider Western Sydney business community.

The choice of venue carried particular significance, with Western Sydney International Airport set to transform connectivity, opportunity and economic growth across the region.

Much like the Wanderers, the airport represents the ambition and determination of Western Sydney, a region that continues to grow, evolve and make its mark on the national stage.

As the Wanderers prepare for the challenges and opportunities of the 2026/27 campaign, the Corporate Season Launch served as a reminder of the collective pride and passion that unites the club, its partners and the community it represents.

With both squads ready for the season ahead and the unwavering support of the Wanderers family behind them, the Red & Black are looking forward to another chapter in the club’s journey.
