The rescheduled Round 7 match will kick-off at 7 pm on Sunday evening.
The Wanderers are undefeated in their last five matches against the Phoenix and winning three of the last four home games against the New Zealand side.
Looking for back-to-back wins following their 2-1 away win against Central Coast Mariners, the Wanderers have put in a solid week of training ahead of the catch-up fixture.
Wanderers co-captain, defender Brendan Hamill said mentality of the players was a massive influence in their form going forward.
“Our mentality towards the game was important (against Mariners), we need to continue that for the season which is a non-negotiable for us, and it is vital that we go out every game with the same mentality as we did against the Central Coast,” said Hamill.
“I think the boys have really come together this week, we’ve worked extra hard and we know how important this next run of games is to get into some good form, put in some good performances and earn three points week-in-week-out.
“We know what’s at stake and we want to push up the table as much as we can. We’ve got this game in hand and a win here can get us up the table and that’s our goal. We have to show up on Sunday, roll up our sleeves and put in a good performance.”
Wanderers head coach Josep Gombau said the team was ready and confident going into the match against Wellington.
“We are preparing for this important game and I think that we can do a good job, the boys are ready, and the win last week brought us some confidence but we need 100 per cent concentration to win this next game,” said Gombau.
“We need to keep our concentration, we need to do two or three games like we played against the Mariners consecutively, not just one, to ensure we have a good performances.
“If we can continue our good performances in the first half then we need to continue this performance into the second half.”
