Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the signing of striker of Tomer Hemed until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The Israeli International comes to the club after a recent stint at Wellington Phoenix where he featured in 21 games and scored 11 goals.
The 34-year-old striker is set to play in his second season of the domestic competition with the Wanderers and has extensive international experience playing for the likes of Mallorca, Brighton & Hove Albion and Queens Park Rangers as well as his childhood club Maccabi Haifa.
The 2017/18 Israeli Footballer of the Year is a proven goalscorer and will link up with the Red & Black for the commencement of the club’s pre-season preparations at the end of the month.
Head coach Carl Robinson welcomed Hemed to the club.
“We are delighted to have Tomer with us for the upcoming A-League season,” said Robinson.
“Tomer is an excellent forward and brings overseas experience at both a club and country level, as well as an understanding of the domestic football landscape that will greatly benefit the team.
“Tomer leads not only from the front third, but off the pitch, his professionalism is top class and he will be very valuable in our continuation to build something special here at the Wanderers.
“We welcome him and his family to the club.”
Hemed said he was looking forward to linking up with his teammates and playing for the Wanderers.
“I am very excited to be joining the Western Sydney Wanderers,” said Hemed.
“There is a lot of work to be done with the club and the fan’s high expectations and ambitions, but I am ready to give my all for the club and the Western Sydney community.
“I am looking forward to arriving in Western Sydney with my family and playing in front of the passionate Wanderers fans who I got to experience as an opposition player last season at Bankwest Stadium and I am delighted to have them now on my side.
“The goal is to have success at the club and I’m ready to contribute in any way that I can.”
