Western Sydney Wanderers forward Awan Lual has capped off an outstanding NPL NSW campaign after being named in the NPL NSW Team of the Year and finishing as joint Golden Boot winner.
Lual enjoyed a prolific season in front of goal, finding the back of the net 21 times across the campaign and establishing himself as one of the competition’s most dangerous attacking threats.
His consistency and impact throughout the season saw him finish level at the top of the goalscoring charts, earning the joint Golden Boot alongside recognition among the competition’s standout performers in the NPL NSW Team of the Year.
The individual honours continue what has already been a memorable period for the young attacker, who also made his mark during the Wanderers’ preparations for the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League Men season.
Lual was among the goals in the club’s unforgettable pre-season clash with English giants Chelsea at Accor Stadium, finding the back of the net as the Wanderers produced a fearless attacking performance in a remarkable 6-4 encounter.
The moment provided another glimpse of Lual’s progression through the Wanderers pathway, complementing a dominant NPL campaign in which his athleticism, attacking instinct and presence in the final third were on display throughout the season.
With 21 NPL NSW goals, a place in the Team of the Year and a memorable goal against Chelsea already to his name, Lual’s 2026 campaign has been one to remember.
