Back to basics for the NRMA Western Sydney Wanderers as Tony Popovic calls on his men to focus leading into the Hyundai A-League Finals.
The coach says the week off gives injured players an opportunity to work towards a goal of being fit and ready for the Wanderers Semi Final match next Friday evening at Parramatta Stadium.
“I think the first few days this week is just about letting the players freshen up,” Popovic said.
“Obviously we-ll work harder towards the latter part of the week.
“We-re quite comfortable with the players- fitness levels that they-ll be ready for the game.”
Last Friday-s three goal victory over Newcastle Jets was a fantastic achievement for the club in their inaugural season.
The players returned to Sydney in high spirits but well aware the competition was not over just yet.
“We-re looking forward to our Semi Final next Friday night,” Popovic said.
“The players want more.
“They-ll do whatever they can to try and achieve more this year.
“They-ll certainly be a time and place to celebrate our achievements and we can do that at the end of the season.”
