HAL: Ins & Outs for Sunday’s match against Perth

Josep Gombau has named his squad for Sunday’s Hyundai A-League Round 23 match against Perth Glory at Spotless Stadium.

Tickets to the match are still available here.

There are three additions to the squad as Kearyn Baccus and Abraham Majok are promoted, while defender Josh Risdon comes back to face his former side after missing last week’s Sydney Derby through suspension.

Midfielder Roly Bonevacia however will miss out through suspension after his booking in the Derby.

Josep Gombau’s side comes into the match undefeated in their last six outings at Spotless Stadium and will look to consolidate their spot in the top six with a win against Kenny Lowe’s visiting outfit.

After last week’s dramatic last-minute 2-1 win against Melbourne City, the Glory now sit just four points behind the Wanderers and know that a win at Spotless is crucial if they are to keep their finals football hopes alive.

The fixture will mark the third meeting between the Wanderers and the Glory this season, following the Wanderers’ 2-1 win at Spotless Stadium in Round 1 and the Glory’s 3-1 win at nib Stadium in Round 18.

After scoring his 16th goal of the season last week, Wanderers striker Oriol Riera (who found the net in both of those fixtures against Perth), needs just one goal to surpass Brendon Santalab’s 2016/17 record for most goals scored in a season across all competitions.

Skipper Mark Bridge is also chasing his own personal milestone, as he aims to become the first player to claim 50 wins as a Wanderer in the Hyundai A-League.
