Ins & Outs: Perth v Wanderers

Head coach Alen Stajcic has named his squad for Tuesday night’s Isuzu UTE A-League clash against Perth Glory at HBF Park.

On paper, the Wanderers upcoming clash against Perth Glory presents a strong opportunity for the Red & Black, with the Glory enduring a tough season and currently sitting second from bottom on the table.

However, Perth enters this match on the back of their first home win of the season, a confidence-boosting victory over a high-flying Auckland side.

Despite the result, Perth remains a young side with the competition’s most challenging records in both attack and defense, having conceded 33 goals while scoring eight.

For the Wanderers, there’s no room for sentiment as they look to continue building momentum under head coach Alen Stajcic, who notably coached Perth last season.

The Red & Black broke a long-standing hoodoo in Perth during their last visit, securing a 2-1 win in this same fixture – the club’s first league victory in Western Australia since 2014.

Last season, the Wanderers bested Perth in two of the three matchups, winning 2-0 at home and 2-1 away, while Perth edged the other encounter 2-1 in a close contest.
