Sydney FC may be runaway leaders in the Hyundai A-League this season but they face the only side they have yet to beat in 2019/20 when they host fierce rivals Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
The Sky Blues only blemish so far this campaign came in the first Sydney Derby back in Round 3 and itās a result that is sure to still be stinging Steve Coricaās troops.
Both clubs have ensured contrasting fortunes since then, with the Sky Blues going on to win 11 of their next 12 games (with one draw), including last weekendās 1-0 victory over Brisbane Roar.
The Wanderers have work to do if they are to play finals football, with Sundayās 3-1 win over Central Coast Mariners just their second victory in their last 12 games.
While there were some encouraging signs under interim boss John Paul de Marigny ā including a debut goal for new recruit Simon Cox ā they will need to go to another level to topple the Sky Blues.
Sydney FC are unbeaten in their last eight home derbies against the Wanderers and it should be a sellout crowd at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
