Momentum is building for Alen Stajcic’s side, who are now four games unbeaten, securing three wins along the way—including a dominant 4-0 victory over the defending champions on Saturday.

A blistering start saw the Red & Black net twice in the opening 13 minutes, setting the tone for a ruthless performance against the Mariners. The emphatic result propelled them up the table, showcasing their growing confidence.

With four different goalscorers, the Wanderers demonstrated their attacking depth, while a crucial clean sheet underlined their defensive progress—thanks to long-awaited stability at the back.

It’s been a challenging season for Perth and rookie coach David Zdrillic, with the Glory managing just two wins all campaign—one of which came against league leaders Auckland. However, that victory was back in January, and they have struggled since, recording three draws and three losses in their last six outings.

A youthful and inexperienced Glory side has endured defensive struggles, conceding a league-worst 41 goals while netting just 12 times in 19 matches.

Perth’s squad features a few former Wanderers, including mid-season recruit Tomi Mrcela, along with youngsters Nathaneal Blair and Adam Bugarija, who joined at the start of the season.

Meanwhile, Jarrod Carluccio, who began the season with Perth, has since returned to the Wanderers and could line up against his former club on Sunday.
