The first fixture of Round 8 pegs the undefeated Roar against Dean Heffernan’s Wanderers, who are second last on the table with just one win to their name to date.

The Roar are in search of their third win on the bounce after notching four consecutive draws to begin the 2020/21 campaign. Forwards Emily Gielnik, Tameka Yallop and Mariel Hecher are beginning to fire after a frustrating start to the season and will be looking to fill their boots against a Wanderers outfit with the equal-worst goal difference in the league (-10).

The Red & Black secured a 2-2 draw in Round 7 against Adelaide United after twice coming from behind thanks to a brace scored by teenager Sarah Hunter on either side of half time, a result which snapped a three game losing streak.
