NPL 1 Preview: Wanderers v Manly United

The Western Sydney Wanderers return to Wanderers Football Park in their fourth consecutive appearance as they host Manly United in Round 21 of the NPL Men’s NSW season.

A chance for the Red and Black to end the month of June on a high note awaits this Saturday when they take on Manly United in their fourth consecutive appearance at home.

After suffering an unfortunate loss where they found themselves unable to put away some great attacking chances, the Wanderers will be looking to close the month with a momentum-gaining victory at Wanderers Football Park.

Despite the 0-3 defeat to Sutherland Sharks in the round prior to this weekend’s tie, the Wanderers showed plenty of promise going forward, just lacking the final movement required at stages to turn those chances into a more favourable scoreline.

The visitors, Manly United, arrive from the Northern Beaches following a comfortable 2-0 win against St George FC in the most recent round of NPL Men’s NSW competition. Similarly to the last visiting side, Manly United will be seeking retribution of their own as a Harper Ryles goal secured all 3 points for the Wanderers in their visit to Cromer Park earlier this season.

A big three points on either side of the ledger, as both teams in the tie will be looking to create safe distance from the bottom half of the table nearing the end of the NPL Men’s NSW season.
