A tough away trip awaits Western Sydney Wanderers when they face Northern Tigers in Round 14 of NPL 2.
Saturday night’s clash at North Turramurra will present Western Sydney with a chance to test themselves against a fellow finals candidate.
Tigers sit in fifth position on the ladder but just two points behind second-placed Wanderers.
The Red & Black have fallen behind ladder-leaders St George City in recent weeks and will be looking for a win to not only keep pace but also to maintain a spot in the top five.
It’s been a very competitive competition this year with just seven points separating second and seventh.
Western Sydney were uncharacteristically quiet in the front third against St George FC last week with a sole chance falling to Kosta Grozos in the second half.
The 1-0 loss was a frustrating result for the Red and Black but will have provided some motivation as they seek to lock down a finals spot in the weeks ahead.
Ali Auglah remains second on the goal-scoring charts with 11 strikes to his name while Aiden Mostofi has eased his way into the side since joining the club last month.
Tigers meanwhile are coming off an impressive 2-1 win away to NWS Spirit and will be looking to get one back on Western Sydney after they went down 3-1 back in Round 3, a win that kickstarted Wanderers’ four-match winning streak.
The match at North Turramurra Recreation Area kicks off at 7:00pm. Make sure you keep an eye on Twitter for match updates.
