Our NPL NSW side travels to face St George FC as they look to do the double over the newly promoted side.
The Wanderers, who have hit a tough run of form in recent times thanks to many key players being out, will back themselves to buck the trend against a St George side who are winless in eight games and recently changed their head coach.
A 5-0 loss to APIA last weekend saw the club make the decision to replace Jane Talcevski with Steve Karavatakis with immediate effect, and the Wanderers will have to be wary of a new manager bounce helping their opponents this weekend.
The young Wanderers side is in need of a confidence boost, with their ladder position slipping due to recent results as well as a points deduction, meaning they will need to improve quickly if they are to make a charge at the finals.
Their last game saw them fall to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to the Wollongong Wolves, with a Sebastian Hernandez wonder goal and a tap in from Lachie Scott condemning the Wanderers to a ninth loss of the season.
Coach Andrew Christiansen will be doing his best to restore belief to a side that earlier in the season went on an eight match winning run to top the league, and they will use their last result against St George as motivation to return to winning ways.
The Wanderers came from behind twice against an intense St George team at Wanderers Football Park back in March, with Zac Sapsford and Alex Badolato getting on the scoresheet in a 4-2 win for the Red and Black.
The Wanderers last faced St George away from home in the 2022 FNSW League One season, where they recorded a 3-1 win.
