The Western Sydney Wanderers once again return to Wanderers Football Park intent on a chance at redemption against a visiting Hills United side.
A chance for the Wanderers to reestablish themselves in the NPL Women’s NSW title race arrives Sunday evening when the Western Sydney Wanderers take on Hills United
The Wanderers enter the fixture following their very first league loss at home all season in a top of the table clash against UNSW.
A closely-contested affair, the Wanderers were able to keep the table-topping visitors from scoring in open play but were unlucky enough to concede directly from a corner. Despite some attacking highlights of note in the first half, it was the aforementioned defensive efforts throughout the fixture that kept the Wanderers fighting to the very last whistle.
The visitors, Hills United, arrive at Wanderers Football Park suffering their own woes. The newly promoted side has found issue acclimatising to NPL Women’s NSW competition, winless in their last four fixtures.
The visiting side will be desperate to pick up points in Club Championship standings, creating a safer distance between their side and a chasing pack in a fight to starve off a return to FNSW League 1 Women’s competition.
Plenty to play for on both sides of the ledger. The Wanderers will be seeking to return to the possession based attacking football that has defined an incredible NPL Women’s NSW season so far.
