The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 team will play Northern Tigers on Saturday night at Sydney United Sports Centre and a win will see them move ahead of their opponents on the table.
Northern Tigers are currently in 8th place but have only lost one of their last four games.
The Red & Black will need to watch out for the strike partnership of Liam McConaghy and Rory Spiers, who have combined for 16 goals this season, while former Wanderers Academy player Oliver Wiggin is now part of the Tigers squad.
For the Wanderers, Perry Fotakopoulos has been impressing recently. The 19-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, returned to the Wanderers Academy this year and now wears the captain’s armband for the NPL 2 first grade side.
Previously from the FFA Centre of Excellence, Fotakopoulos was also part of the Joeys squad for the Under-17 World Cup in 2015.
Rory Jordan will be another player to watch. Capable of playing as either a winger or an attacking midfielder, Jordan joined the Wanderers this year and has been part of the U20 and first-grade side.
Jordan has also been doing well in school football recently, earning selection in the NSW squad for this month’s U19 Tri-State Football Championship against Queensland and ACT.
The last time these two sides met, the match ended in a 1-1 draw with Tass Mourdoukoutas getting the goal for the Wanderers.
