Wanderers aiming to bounce back against Roar

The Western Sydney Wanderers Westfield W-League team will be back in action this Sunday afternoon when they take on Brisbane Roar at Marconi Stadium.

Wanderers members have FREE entry to the match when showing their membership card.

The Red & Black come into the match after a disappointing 3-0 defeat to their cross-city rivals in the opening round of the Westfield W-League competition last Thursday night.

Despite the result, the Wanderers looked sharp in the front-third and will be looking to build on the many chances they created to secure a valuable three points in front of their home crowd.

The Roar are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw last weekend against Perth, where they fought back in the second half to share the spoils.

Coach Mel Andreatta’s starting eleven featured four Roar debutants including Elli Chapple, Anna Margarf, Jenna McCormick and Chioma Ubogagu and the squad has also been bolstered with the return of Matildas Clare Polkinghorne, Katrina Gorry and Hayley Raso.

The last time these two sides met was in Round 3 of the 2017/18 season at Marconi Stadium, with the Roar being the runaway winners after a lone goal from Carson Pickett.
