Wanderers bid farewell to Mourdoukoutas

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have tonight bid farewell to Wanderers Academy graduate Tass Mourdoukoutas.

Mourdoukoutas joined the Red & Black back in 2017, playing in both the club’s National Premier League first grade side and Championship-winning Youth League squad.

The 23-year-old went on to make his A-Leagues debut that same season and went on to make 40 appearances over his last five years at the club.

Mourdoukoutas will now depart the club for a new opportunity and thanked the club for their support over the last five years.

“The Wanderers have a special place in my heart. I came here in the Academy at 18, continued working hard and was rewarded with my first professional contract. It wasn’t easy, but for some players that opportunity never comes so I was and am truly grateful,” said Mourdoukoutas.

“My favourite memories would be both the first game at the new stadium against Leeds United playing the full 90, going toe to toe against some of the best footballers in the world. Also the Sydney Derbies, the atmosphere and the emotion that they brought.

“In a search for more game time I need to now go somewhere in order to continue to grow and develop as a player.

“I’d like to thank all the coaches who have shaped me into the player and person I am today, as for without the good times and the difficult times I wouldn’t be as strong as I am now.

“To the members and fans. I felt truly loved and respected by many, in football and in life, and not everyone has that privilege so for that I thank you.”
