Wanderers secure dynamic talent Panashe Madanha

Western Sydney Wanderers FC are pleased to confirm the signing of defender Panashe Madanha, with the talented right-back joining the club on a two-year deal.

At just 21 years of age, Madanha arrives at Wanderland with valuable A-League Men experience already under his belt, having made 35 appearances in the competition since making his professional debut in 2022.

Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Madanha moved to Australia at the age of four and developed through the local football pathway before earning his first professional contract. His debut season saw him make history as the first Zimbabwe-born player to feature in the A-League Men competition.

Madanha has also represented Australia at youth international level, earning selection in the Young Socceroos squad for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup.

Madanha said the opportunity to join the Wanderers was one he was eager to embrace.

“The Wanderers are a big club with a lot of ambition, and the passion of the supporters is something that really stood out to me,” said Madanha.

“When the opportunity came up, it was very exciting. I’m grateful to be here, excited to get started and looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

Madanha said he believes Western Sydney is the ideal environment to continue his development.

“I’ve loved football ever since I started playing when I was six years old and, like any young player, I’ve always wanted to test myself at the highest level possible,” he said.

“At this stage of my career, I feel Western Sydney is the right place for me. It’s an environment where I can continue to develop my game, keep improving every day and work towards becoming the player I want to be.”

Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director Mal Impiombato said Madanha’s arrival reflected the club’s commitment to investing in talented, ambitious and determined young players with the hunger and desire to succeed.

“Panashe is a player who has been on our radar for some time,” said Impiombato.

“He’s 21, he has genuine A-League Men experience and, importantly, he has a real hunger to keep improving and push his game to another level.

“As a club, we’re being very deliberate with our recruitment. We’re investing in talented young players who have the ambition, mentality and potential to help drive this club forward.

“Panashe fits that profile perfectly. We believe he will thrive in our environment and contribute to what we’re building as we continue strengthening the squad with the goal of challenging for trophies and delivering success for our Members and supporters.”
