Western Sydney Wanderers FC would like to thank Josh Brillante, Kosta Barbarouses, Bozhidar Kraev, Phillip Cancar, Jacob Farrell, Ruon Tongyik and Alou Kuol as they depart the club following the conclusion of their A-League contracts.
Midfielder Josh Brillante departs the club after three seasons in Western Sydney, having made 66 appearances since joining from Melbourne Victory in 2023.
A former captain at both Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory, Brillante brought leadership and composure to the Wanderers’ midfield and played a key role in the club’s resurgence to a fourth-place finish in 2024/25.
New Zealand international Kosta Barbarouses leaves the Wanderers after one season at the club, making 28 appearances and scoring 11 goals across all competitions.
The experienced forward arrived in Western Sydney ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and made a strong impact in attack, contributing important goals and bringing valuable experience to the squad throughout the season.
Bulgarian international Bozhidar Kraev also leaves after two seasons, during which he made 52 appearances and scored 13 goals in the A-Leagues competition.
Signed from Wellington Phoenix in 2024, Kraev quickly became a creative focal point in attack, with goals against Central Coast Mariners, Newcastle Jets and Macarthur FC among his contributions in 2025/26.
Defender Phillip Cancar returned to the Wanderers for the 2025/26 season having first represented the club in 2021/22, taking his total appearances for the club to 23.
Jacob Farrell, who joined on loan from Portsmouth in January this year, made seven appearances for the Wanderers during the campaign and will now return to his English side.
Defender Ruon Tongyik concludes his second stint at the Wanderers, finishing with 16 appearances across two separate spells with the club since first joining in 2018/19.
Forward Alou Kuol made 14 appearances and scored one goal in his debut season in Red & Black after arriving from Central Coast Mariners.
The Wanderers thank all seven players for their contribution to the club and wish them every success in the next chapter of their football careers.
