Wanderers to travel to Brisbane this Saturday

Two weeks after their last match, the Wanderers Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s side will finally be in action on Saturday night when they travel to Moreton Daily Stadium to face Brisbane Roar.

It has been a very challenging period for the Red & Black who during the Christmas and New Year period had games postponed due to COVID cases.

With a number of players returning to training this week, the Wanderers match against Brisbane is now a fantastic opportunity to get back to the promising form the side showed against Melbourne City two weeks ago.

The Wanderers snatched a point against a very chaotic and dramatic 3-3 draw against City in their last match.

The Wanderers took a 2-0 lead within nine minutes in Sunday night’s clash at AAMI Park through James Troisi and Jack Rodwell, but Scott Galloway and Jamie Maclaren drew City level before half-time.

Marco Tilio put City in front in the 60th minute with a wonderful goal before Wanderers attacker Keijiro Ogawa leveled eight minutes later.

An open and dominant fixture, the Red & Black showed what they were capable of and will be looking to score just as many goals and tidy up at the back when they travel to Brisbane.

Brisbane Roar will be coming off the back of quite a congested schedule having played four matches in the month of January alone.

Heading into their second consecutive home match, the Roar recently faced Adelaide United who came. out the winners in the 3-1 clash.

Adelaide’s Craig Goodwin scored in either half while Reds captain Stefan Mauk hit the back of the net from the penalty spot to cancel out former Red Nikola Mileusnic’s early opener for the Roar and secure Carl Veart’s team just their second win of the season.
