Match Preview: Victory v Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers are set to travel to AAMI Park on Saturday night, determined to get back on track with their Isuzu UTE A-League campaign with a strong performance against Melbourne Victory.

The Wanderers, currently seventh on the ladder with 14 points, are coming off the back of a narrow 3-2 loss to Macarthur at CommBank Stadium, a result that ended their four-match unbeaten run.

Despite the setback, the team remains confident, bolstered by the prolific form of Brandon Borrello and Nicolas Milanovic, who have each scored five goals this season and sit tied for second in the league’s scoring charts.

Last season’s visit to AAMI Park saw the Wanderers secure a memorable 4-3 victory in a thrilling contest, with goals from Lachlan Brook, Milanovic, Aydan Hammond and Oscar Priestman.

The team will be eager to replicate that success and continue their strong record on the road, where they’ve claimed two wins and a draw in four matches this season.

Melbourne Victory, currently fourth with 18 points, are without a win in their last three matches, most recently playing out a goalless draw against Auckland.

While Victory remain unbeaten at home this season with three wins and a draw, the Wanderers will look to capitalise on their momentum and deliver a statement performance.
