Coach Tony Popovic said the club would now concentrate on Saturday-s clash with cross city rivals Sydney FC.
The club broke the national league all time record with the 3-1 away win over
Melbourne Heart.
“It is another great milestone for our football club,” Popovic said.
“It takes a special effort from everyone involved to get ten straight wins.
“It is good to have a derby coming up and it will be a special occasion at Parramatta Stadium and that is our focus now.”
Popovic admitted no one could have forecast the amazing winning streak.
“It has gone better than expected especially in terms of this run,” he said.
“You see a lot of unbeaten runs around the world but to win ten straight is difficult to do and it has taken a special effort by the players and they deserve a
lot of credit for that and hopefully they can keep it going.”
Striker Labinot Haliti was hitting form at the right time of the season with two
goals against Heart.
“He has always been a player that gets on the end of things and gets opportunities in games,” Popovic said.
“Last week he could have scored a hat trick.
“It is great to see him back it up this weekend and get a couple of goals.”
Captain Michael Beauchamp said the team was enjoying their football.
“It has been a crazy ride so far and there is still a way to go,” Beauchamp said.
“We are not overthinking it.
“We enjoyed it yesterday and we will go back to the drawing board today and look at the video to see where we can improve for the game against Sydney.”
