The Western Sydney Wanderers are delighted to announce attacker Erica Halloway and defender Ellie Brush as co-captains of the club’s Westfield W-League team.

Halloway is set to star in her third season for the Red & Black and won the Wanderers Medal for Player of the Year in her debut season in 2015/16.

A Bathurst Panthers junior, Halloway played her senior football with Illawarra Stingrays before joining the Wanderers in 2015.

Last season, Halloway made 11 appearances for the Red & Black and scored one goal.

Brush joined the Wanderers this season after an extensive playing career that has seen her spend the last nine seasons with Canberra United.

An experienced campaigner, Brush led Canberra to win the Westfield W-League Premiership in 2012 and is the fourth most-capped Westfield W-League player of all time.

Head coach Rich Byrne said the selection of the two players to share the captaincy role was an easy decision.

“Both Erica and Ellie have shown fantastic leadership skills during our preparation for the Westfield W-League season,” said Byrne.

“They have been great role models for some of our younger players and really pride themselves on the club’s values.”

The Wanderers W-League team kick-off the season today against Newcastle Jets at McDonald Jones Stadium at 2:30pm. Watch live on FOX SPORTS, SBS VICELAND or oz.com.
