Ante Covic and Nikolai Topor-Stanley will become the first players to reach 50 Hyundai A-League matches for the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers when, fittingly, they take on Sydney FC this Saturday at Allianz Stadium.
The two Foundation players have only missed a single game since the Red and Black played their first match against the Mariners in 2011 and the defensive stalwarts will be looking to celebrate with a clean sheet to complete a whitewash against their city rivals this season.
Goalkeeper Covic and central defender Topor-Stanley have forged a lethal partnership in defence which sees them average less than a goal a game having kept a clean sheet in almost 40% of their matches.
Both have been revelations for the Wanderers with Topor-Stanley winning Members- Player of the Year while Covic won the league-s Goalkeeper of the Year award.
