Western Sydney Wanderers FC are delighted to announce that one of Australia’s brightest young football talents Talia Younis has signed a contract extension with the club’s Ninja A-League side.
A product of the Wanderers Academy, Younis has rapidly established herself as one of the competition’s most exciting young players since making her senior debut during the 2023/24 season.
In February this year, Younis reached a remarkable milestone in the Wanderers’ clash against Melbourne City, becoming one of the youngest players in Ninja A-League history to make 50 appearances in the competition at just 17 years of age.
Her rise through the ranks has been nothing short of extraordinary. After spending four seasons developing within the Wanderers Academy system, Younis earned her senior debut at just 14 years of age, immediately showcasing the maturity, confidence and technical quality that have since become hallmarks of her game.

Since breaking into the first team, Younis has continued to impress with her composure in the midfield, versatility across attacking and central roles, and ability to influence matches beyond her years. Across her two professional seasons, she has become an integral part of the Wanderers Ninja A-League squad and fan favourite among the Red & Black faithful.
Her outstanding 2025/26 campaign was recognised at the Wanderers Medal, where Younis claimed both the A-League Women’s Members’ Player of the Year Award and the prestigious Player of the Year Award, further cementing her status as one of the league’s premier young talents.
Younis’ performances at club level have also earned national recognition representing Australia in the CommBank Junior Matildas squad for the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup in 2024.

Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director Mal Impiombato said the club was proud to secure one of the country’s most exciting young talents, with the extension reflecting a shared commitment to the future of the women’s program.
“The club is pleased to secure the signature of the brightest young talent in the country. The commitment of Talia and the club to extend her deal is a statement of intent from both parties as we look to build for the 2026/27 A-League Women’s season.”
Wanderers Ninja A-League head coach Geoff Abrahams said Younis’ journey was one he had witnessed firsthand from an early age.
“Talia is someone I’ve personally known since she was kid coming along to watch her brother’s games when I was coaching him, so now to see the player she has become is incredibly special,” said Abrahams.
“I’ve watched her grow from a talented young footballer into a player that can genuinely dominate games at A-League level.
“She’s a proud Western Sydney local who has come through both our Academy pathways and excelled in all environments.
“In my opinion, Talia is the most talented young player in Australia and we’re incredible proud that she’ll continue her journey with the Wanderers for another season.”
Talia said she was excited to continue her journey with the club.
“I’m really excited and I’m keen to help bring success back to the club and give it my all every game,” said Younis.
“I love the Wanderers cultural and all the people. I feel like the last few years have helped me grow individually and as a footballer, I’m keen to continue.
“I’d like to thank the members and the fans for all their support and I hope that we can repay you next season.”
The extension represents another significant moment for the Wanderers’ women’s program and reinforces the club’s commitment to developing elite local talent from within Western Sydney.
Still only at the beginning of her career, Younis’ re-signing ensures members and fans will continue to watch one of the country’s most exciting young footballers develop in the Red & Black.
