Ins & Outs: Wanderers v Macarthur

Head coach Alen Stajcic has named his extended squad for Sunday night’s clash against Macarthur FC.

Western Sydney can take confidence knowing Macarthur have lost key attackers Jed Drew and Ariath Piol to overseas moves, both of whom scored in their 3-2 win over the Wanderers at CommBank Stadium, where the hosts played much of the second half with 10 men after Dean Pelekanosā€™ red card.

Macarthur may also be without striker Valere Germain, pending an A-League disciplinary hearing after their 2-2 draw with Western United.

The Bulls have struggled for consistency in the New Year, winning and losing three games each, with only one clean sheet. Their last win over the Wanderers gives them a narrow head-to-head edge (5-4), but their record at CommBank Stadium is poor.

A Wanderers win could see them draw level with Macarthur ā€“ and potentially leapfrog them on goal difference ā€“ at a crucial point in the season.
