It was a busy weekend for the Wanderers with a number of players spending time out and about in the community at various events.
On Saturday, Nikolai Topor-Stanley and Ante Covic attended the Southern Districts Finals at Hammondville Park, Moorebank whilst on Sunday, Kwabena Appiah-Kubi and Tahj Minniecon were at the annual Indian Festival held at Sydney Olympic Park.
Appiah-Kubi is happy to be out spreading the word and letting everyone know the Wanderers have arrived.
“It-s been a pretty good day, Tahj and I are out spruiking memberships and the club in general so it-s good,” he said. “We want to get out in the community, we are a new club and starting from scratch, I think we are doing a pretty good job early on.”
On the pitch, the 20-year-old said he was enjoying the effects of a gruelling pre-season program.
“Popa (Coach Tony Popovic) has been running us ragged,” Kwabena laughed. “It will be of benefit to us later in the season so that is why we are putting in all the hard work now.
“It-s what our training is about at the moment, we need to provide that base so when we are fatigued in matches we know how to stay in the game and with matches.”
