A return to winning ways will be the Western Sydney Wanderers FNSW League One side, as they make the short trip to the Blacktown City Football Centre to take on Hills United on Saturday Night.
After seeing the teams above them drop points, the side was disappointed not to pick up all three points against NWS Spirit last round, with their attack not reaching the spectacular high’s seen this season.
It took a raft of substitutions to shock the side into life and help earn a late equaliser through Aiden Mostofi to ensure their unbeaten streak continued, it currently stands at six games.
A very positive sign for Wanderers players and staff alike was the sight of Lochlan Constable getting an extended run at his preferred attacking midfielder spot; still getting up to speed after a long injury layoff, his introduction into the action worried the Spirit defence, and he nearly had a goal to show for his efforts.
Jordi Swibel also made his return from injury with a cameo off the bench, and he will be hoping to get some more minutes in the legs so that his fitness is up to scratch as the stakes get higher in the season.
And this round presents a good chance for the striker to get back amongst the goals, as Hills United sit bottom of the table and are on a five match losing streak.
In the first matchup between the sides at Wanderers Football Park, the striker bagged a hat-trick as the Wanderers romped to a 7-1 victory.
Hills coach John Gibson will be hoping his side lifts at home and is able to limit the chances of the away side, but holding out the league’s best attack with 43 goals is no easy task.
Like last week, a win for the Wanderers could take them from 3rd to 1st, but they would need other results to go their way.
