Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce that goalkeeper Daniel Lopar has signed a contract extension that will see him at the club until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2021/22 season.

The experienced goalkeeper joined the Wanderers this season after an extensive career in Switzerland which saw him spend 17 seasons in the Swiss Super League with sides FC 1990, FC Aaron, FC Thun and FC St. Gallen where he played for most of his career making 299 appearances.

Since arriving at the Red & Black, the talented shot-stopper has been a fan-favourite featuring in all but one match so far this season including the Wanderers friendly against English giants Leeds United.

Lopar’s excellent performances have earned him multiple selections in the Hyundai A-League’s Team of the Week.

The goalkeeper said he was excited to be continuing his journey with the Red & Black for the next two seasons.

“I’m very happy to be continuing my journey at the Western Sydney Wanderers for the next two years and I believe in the potential of the club,” said Lopar.

“Over the next two years, I want to have success at the club so we are working step-by-step to improve the situation we are in now.

“My family and I are very happy here at the Wanderers so that’s the reason why we have chosen to stay here. My little one is learning English every day and she’s almost better than me.”
