Match Preview: Wanderers v Brisbane

Hosts Western Sydney Wanderers will be out to to make the most of home advantage when Brisbane Roar arrive at Wanderers Football Park for an A-League Women clash on Sunday.

Brisbane Roar’s last league match saw them triumph 2-0 over Western United at home to snap a three-match winless streak, putting them in sixth place on 20 points through 15 matches.

Western Sydney Wanderers are in ninth place on 16 points through 16 matches. Wanderers earned a point in their last A-League Women match, drawing 1-1 at home against Canberra United, extending their winless streak to three (W0 D2 L1).

The previous A-League Women fixture between the clubs saw Roar emerge victorious 1-0 at A.J. Kelly Park in December. Hollie Palmer scored Brisbane Roar FC Women’s only goal in the ninth minute.

Shea Connors has been the most prolific player for Roar, scoring on five occasions, including two match-opening goals.

Olivia Price, Amy Harrison, and Sophie Harding have made a difference in front of goal for Wanderers this season. Price and Harrison are the team’s joint top scorers with three goals, followed by Harding with two.
