A game which was originally supposed to be part of a double header at CommBank Stadium, it will now take place at Wanderers Football Park in an exciting afternoon of A-League Women’s action.

They will hope a return to their proper home will help them return to form after a slump in recent weeks.

They have been competitive in all of their matches, but two tight losses and a tough night in the Sydney Derby have seen the Wanderers fall down the table and lose a little bit of momentum they gained after a three game winning streak.

The derby defeat saw an unlucky penalty converted on the stroke of half-time, before the visitors scored a second thanks to a stroke of luck to win 2-0 at Marconi Stadium.

There were some positives to the game, with Holly Caspers finally starting a game this season after coming back from injury off the bench, whilst Julie Dolan medalist Sophie Harding also made her return to the side after missing five games with a hip injury.

Coach Geoff Abrahams will hope the pair can find fitness and actually start some games together as the season nears its conclusion, and can rediscover the combination that was so effective many times last season.

It would also help support top scorer Sienna Saveska, who has seven goals for the season and scored a screamer in the reverse fixture against the Victory back in early January.

That game was one of the craziest of the season, with the Wanderers coming back from 4-2 down to earn a stoppage time draw in a crazy finish.

Harding was the star of the show as she scored two goals, including the equaliser, whilst Talia Kapetanellis also scored her maiden A-League goal that evening.

The Wanderers will hope they can take that attacking form into this game, and will take inspiration from their last match at home against the Victory over a year ago.

On that day, captain Amy Harrison scored the opener as the Wanderers secured a stunning 2-0 win at Wanderers Football Park, with many members of that starting side set to play once again this weekend.

The Victory meanwhile are still chasing their local rivals Melbourne City in the race for the minor premiership; they are four points behind but do have a game in hand.

They have lost just twice all season and are in imperious form, winning their last five games and having an unbeaten run stretching back to early January.

Emily Gielnik has been front and centre of their great form, scoring 12 goals, whilst they have also been boosted by the recent news captain Kayla Morrison has signed a multi-year contract extension with the club.

That said, Gielnik did not score in the 4-4 draw with the Wanderers, though key midfielder and former Matildas favourite Alex Chidiac did get on the scoresheet, and the Wanderers will need to keep her quiet if they are to get an important and valuable win for their season.
