Top spot is within reach for Western Sydney Wanderers when they face St George FC on Saturday night.
Western Sydney sit second on the NPL 2 ladder, equal on goal difference but behind St George City on goals scored.
The Round 13 clash at Wanderers Football Park sees a re-match of Round 2 with the sides playing out a relatively entertaining 0-0 draw.
From there Wanderers went on a four-match winning streak and they’ll be hoping Saturday’s encounter triggers a similar run.
The Red & Black are coming off a dominant 4-0 win over Central Coast Mariners that also cemented their position in the top two.
A brace from Reuben Awaritefe as well as goals from Ali Auglah and Kosta Grozos sent Western Sydney on their way.
Awaritefe in particular has stood out in recent weeks as a force to be reckoned with. Despite a slow start to the season the big striker has now notched five goals after his efforts on the weekend.
St George have had a mixed season so far and sit in seventh place, five points off a finals spot. They’ll be hoping for a win to keep pace with the top five.
Wanderers are currently unbeaten at home this campaign and coach Patrick Zwaanswijk will simply be looking for his side to continue their confident style of play, one that has resulted in 32 goals.
The match kicks off at 7:00pm, don’t forget to keep an eye on Twitter for match updates.
